We’re pleased to introduce you to the actors in our New England Premiere production of BIG FISH. The play tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman known for his tall tales and charismatic personality. When his adult son Will discovers he is about to become a father, he sets out to discover the truth behind his father’s larger-than-life adventures.
Actor Zaven Ovian makes his SpeakEasy debut as Don Price, the would-be BMOC from Edward Bloom’s youth. Read our interview to find out more.
Where are you from?
I’m from Burlington, MA.
Have you worked with SpeakEasy prior?
No, this is my first SpeakEasy show!
Could you tell us a bit about the role you are playing?
The role I’m playing is Don Price. What he really wants is to be a leader, but he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. He has a tough time with that because Edward is always showing him up and Don tends to always be in Edward’s shadow.
What are you looking forward to in this process?
I’m most excited about working with and getting to know an entirely unfamiliar cast. Also, getting to work with the writers of the show and having them be a part of our process!
Can you share a favorite memory of a parent?
I’d have to say one of my most poignant memories is watching movies with my dad when I was a kid. We always used to watch old westerns and action movies. I’m pretty sure it’s one of the main reasons I decided to become an actor!
