The Fellowship program is for theater administrators looking to transition into the professional world after graduation or for those interested in a new career path. This entry level position is considered a part of the core staff of theater professionals and works closely with all departments of the organization.
Applications for our 2025 – 2026 Artistic & Creative Content Fellowship will be due by May 1, 2025.
ARTISTIC & Creative Content FELLOWSHIP
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Artistic Director and Director of Artistic & Community Programs in all aspects of artistic programming, literary management, and community engagement.
Support the Marketing Manager in creative content planning and marketing strategy as it relates to artistic productions.
Act as Assistant Director on one production in the season.
Serve as the bridge between the Artistic and Marketing productions.
Read plays and attend weekly literary meetings to help cultivate future seasons.
Manage and facilitate all company auditions.
Complete assorted artistic, educational, and engagement projects including, but not limited to, production dramaturgy, community outreach, workshop planning, and education material creation.
Assist other SpeakEasy departments as necessary, including with Community Engagement, Development, Special Events, Operations, and Production.
EMPLOYMENT & COMPENSATION:
Fellowships run the length of one theatrical season, or approximately 10 months. Exact start and end dates vary, but usually span August – June.
Fellowships are part-time, approximately 20-30 hours a week, with occasional evening and weekend events. The schedule is flexible and can be created around other jobs and/or artistic projects.
Fellows are paid MA minimum wage.
Additional benefits include complimentary tickets to all SpeakEasy shows (in perpetuity), as well as weekly offers to artistic events throughout the city.
Role reports to the Director of Artistic & Community Programs and the Marketing Manager.
