Fellowship

The Fellowship program is for theater administrators looking to transition into the professional world after graduation or for those interested in a new career path. This entry level position is considered a part of the core staff of theater professionals and works closely with all departments of the organization.

Applications for our 2024-2025 Digital Marketing Fellowship are due by June 7, 2024 at 5pm.

Digital Marketing FELLOWSHIP

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Marketing Manager and Marketing staff in all aspects of digital programming, marketing, and social media.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to build strategies for and implement social media campaigns on various channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Provide basic website support for the company and box office, as well as to external agencies responsible for promoted content and digital display advertising campaigns.
  • Assists in capturing social media content at SpeakEasy events, including open houses, receptions, special events, rehearsals, openings, and post-show discussions.
  • Assist other SpeakEasy departments as necessary.

EMPLOYMENT & COMPENSATION:

  • Fellowships run the length of one theatrical season, or approximately 10 months. Exact start and end dates vary, but usually span August – June.
  • Fellowships are part-time, approximately 20-25 hours a week, with occasional evening and weekend events. The schedule is flexible and can be created around other jobs and/or artistic projects.
  • Fellows are paid MA minimum wage.
  • Additional benefits include complimentary tickets to all SpeakEasy shows (in perpetuity), as well as weekly offers to artistic events throughout the city.
  • The Digital Marketing Fellow reports to the head of marketing but also works closely with the Community & Artistic Programs Manager, who manages the overall Fellowship Program.

ARTISTIC FELLOWSHIP

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Producing Artistic Director and Community & Artistic Programs Manager in all aspects of artistic programming, literary management, and community engagement.
  • Act as Assistant Director on one production in the season.
  • Read plays and attend weekly literary meetings to help cultivate future seasons.
  • Manage and facilitate all company auditions.
  • Complete assorted artistic and educational projects including, but not limited to, production dramaturgy, community outreach, workshop planning, and education material creation.
  • Assist other SpeakEasy departments as necessary, including with Marketing initiatives, Special Events, and Production.
